Blastcon Australia has a ShotTrack VOD recorder which enables the testing of the reaction speed of an explosives product.
VOD testing offers our clients valuable information on their products performance in the blast hole versus what the supplier indicates in their Technical Data Sheets.
This is very important in determining whether explosives perform at their recommended velocity of detonation, as any loss of VOD will directly affect the outcome of a blast. Incorrect VOD can lead to high fume generation, badly fragmented ground, giving rise to tight digging and decreased production results. Our clients are proactive shotfirers and conduct regular VOD tests to ensure Supplier performance.
The new ShotTrack VoD 305 is part of the next generation of Velocity of Detonation monitors. It features a sample rate of under 4uS and a nominal resolution of 90 Pico seconds. Housed in a compact IP 67 rated case, single button operation, GPS synchronised timestamp and long range Bluetooth puts the VoD 305 in a class of its own.
